My Foray Into Shows, and Beyond

Initially, this project was about learning music.

It was about growing in my skill and developing what I naturally gravitated towards—that old-school, retro musical feel, with the piano as an exciting and, frankly, rich vessel to dive into the creating.

That was the whole scope of it. Sit down, play, get better, share a little of the process along the way.

Then Things Started Creeping In

But then I started adding LED builds. Then jazz jams. Then seeking out musicians to collaborate with.

And what all of that is showing me is that I have a real itch for performance, and for creative expression—not just for practice.

Perhaps, and hopefully, an itch that may one day cross over into the realm of a real business. A monetary generator. A profit generator.

The Artist and the Businessman

Art is interesting, and my artist mind doesn't always gel with my inclination for business.

I want to create because the thing is elegant. Because it's new, it's novel, it's touching. Because it's reminiscent of a nostalgic and peaceful era. Because it's piercing, it's emotional—or because it simply needs bringing into our physical reality, rather than remaining a relic in a bunch of neurons.

None of those reasons have anything to do with money. And yet.

The Intersections

That intersection between the music and the creativity, the creativity and the production, the production and the business, is something I'm going to explore more in the coming months.

These are conjoining Venn diagrams I seldom consider in union. But I'm going to have to, if I'm to realise the next phase of my creativity.

Profitability.

What That Might Look Like

There are some ideas, largely driven by the unique content being produced—and by the expectation that some may want to watch more of it in a membership-style way. And also by physically doing events and shows.

All yet to be realised. But watch this space for interesting ways one may be creative in the media space and also profitable.
